Girls Pamper Day | Relax

So I'm a big believer in pamper days.
All girls (and guys!) should invest in some me time and give your skin a little rejuvenation once in a while.
So this is just a quick view into what I do on my pamper days :)

Diptyque Limited Edition Rosamundi Candle : MmMelting Marshmellow Moments Bath Melt

So the first thing I do is light my favourite scented candle. My candle of choice at the moment is my Diptyque Rosamundi candle which I purchased at the lovely Liberty of London. This smells simply fantastic.

I then run myself a nice hot bath and place my bath melt in the bottom of the tub and let the water surround it. This creates a lovely pink frothy foam which smells so sweet and delicious! The water changes to a lovely pink colour with a moisturising milky layer on the top which caresses your skin making it so soft.

Pretty <3

Normally when I have a pamper I like to cleanse my hair and wash out all the crap that's built up from other hair products. So I use Tresseme Deep Cleansing Shampoo and Moisture Rich Conditioner so once I've cleansed my hair I can put some moisture back into it. This really is a lovely combo.

I'm currently in love with my latest Lush shower gel - Prince Charming. I won't go into too much detail as I've mentioned this in my last blog post (here). Just know it smells incredible and it lathers well.

I also really like the Garnier deep pore wash. This is a gentle exfoliating face wash which really does unclog my pores and makes my face feel like it's had a good cleanse too!

Another product I'm trying out from Lush is the Silky Underwear powder. I haven't really made up my mind of this yet. It might be that the scent is quite strong so when you've bathed in lush products you don't want anything else on your skin to mask that scent.

Shelf Overview

So now I'm out of the bath and just taking my time in getting ready.
On go my snuggly PJ's and slippers (I don't plan on really going anywhere on my pamper day!) I normally put on a film or in this case put on my favourite TV series which is Revenge at the moment. Have any of you been watching this?

I like to let my hair air dry when I can. I like to use Aussie leave-in-conditioner which also detangles (this smells amazing!), Tresemme root boosting spray, Tresemme keratin oil and not forgetting my purple Tangleteezer (which I seem to have misplaced!). I just brush these products through and whip my hair back and forth! Whilst singing the song obviously...

I then clip my hair back and now it's skin rejuvenating time!

1. First of all it's all about keeping hydrated so I go and pour myself a nice ice cold glass of water.
2. I use my Bioderma cleanser to just remove any excess make up that might have been left over on my skin.
3. Next I use a generous amount of my Clinique moisturising gel.
4. I use my new Garnier Eye Roll On which is used to wake up tired looking eyes - I've actually fallen in love with this product - blog to follow on it shortly.
5. MAC Mineralize Charged Water - I bought this when I was in London over the summer last year, some may think this is a bit of a random product but I actually really bought into the idea of iron charged water... each to their own! I spray this over my face after my moisturiser has sunk in and I feel fresh and awake!
6. I rub on my Bubblegum Lip Scrub and hey-presto, my chapped lips have gone.
7. Apply a lip balm - I couldn't find my Carmex so this had to do!
8. Finally my hands felt rather dry so I applied some Balance Me super moisturising hand cream. This smells quite spa-like. It is rather rich and something I only apply once a day.

Hydration is the key!

Finally, I had a little time to spare so I thought I'd paint my nails with a new polish I bought from Rimmel. I love the colour and think it's going to be my new favourite Spring Summer pick!
What do you think?

Rimmel 60 second in Rose Libertine

So ladies, what do you indulge in on your pamper days? What products do you love to bask yourselves in?

Let me know in the comments <3

And as always, It's been a pleasure.

Sex In A Box | Lush Haul

So I feel the title is rather apt, as when I received this box and opened it - I was like wow!
I couldn't even hide the drool running down my chin.
Imagine this box is Hugh Jackman (I defy anyone not to think this man is sexy!).
Strong and masculine on the outside, but you know whatever's on the inside your going to love and you know whatever it is; is gonna be extremely sexy & smell incredible!!!

........

Sorry - you lost me for a moment...I was thinking of Hugh (yes we're on first name terms!)

-

Anyway! About the contents - This did not disappoint, the way this box was packaged got my heart racing! Even though I knew what I'd ordered, it was like a little treasure hunt for my products amongst the polystyrene balls.

MmmMelting Marshmellow Moment - £3.95

This is a luxury bath melt.
Lush describe this by saying 'it brings to mind dolly mixtures and candy floss' and they couldn't be more right. It smells so good you literally want to eat the damn thing.
Place this in your bath and let the hot water surround it. It lathers up ever so slightly creating a milky moisturising pink foam, move this gently around in the water until all of the melt has dissolved. You will be left with a bath of wonder and your skin will smell and feel amazing when you eventually decide to get out.

The Comforter - £4.50

This is a bubble bar.
Lush describe this as 'a bathtime blend of fruity essential oils to wrap you up in a big comforting hug' and again, they are bang on. This bar smells of blackcurranty goodness! My work colleague (who has never bought anything from Lush - I know!!) said that it smells like Ribena! She seemed to be very excited about this product and went on to say that it's like bathing in a tub of hot ribena!
So if ever you feel like you need to 'get away from it all', run yourself a nice hot bath, crumble  half of this under the tap and watch your bath transform into something from Willy Wonka's factory! Except unfortunately - yet again! You can not eat the products no matter how delicious they smell.

Bubblegum Lip Scrub - £5.50

This is a lip scrub.
Lush describe this as 'a gentle exfoliator to prime and refine your lips and leave them tasting divine'
As you can tell by the picture I couldn't even wait to take a picture, before I stuck my finger in and rubbed this over my very chapped lips! I do love this product as it does buff off your dead skin and you can actually eat it! However sometimes when I really think about what I'm doing, I think to myself  'I'm eating my dead skin off my lips - eugh!' however this doesn't seem to put me off for anymore than 3 seconds as it tastes seriously good!!

Liquid Lipsticks in Perspective - £14.50

This is a Liquid Lipstick.
Lush describe this as 'a rosy nude long-lasting lipstick for a new look that's subtle and natural'
Too be fair there isn't much I can write on this at the moment as I will be reviewing it shortly. I'm going to put a look together and see how it turns out and how long it lasts.
One thing that I can say at the moment though, is that I'm not too impressed with the smell.
I'll keep you posted.

Grease Lightning - £5.95

This is a spot treatment.
Lush describe this as 'a gentle, yet powerfully effective spot treatment gel.'
Again, I shall be reviewing this in the near future, I'm not one who suffers with spots normally but I've noticed recently I've had a few blemishes that have driven me insane! I am currently trying out this product and another one to see which one fairs better.
I'll keep you posted.

Silky Underwear - £4.25

This is a Dusting Powder.
Lush describe this by saying 'it's the ultimate finishing touch; powdered cocoa butter and cornstarch to soften the skin and a sophisticated and sexy, yet delicate jasmine fragrance.'
Basically I have used this once since I bought it and I have mixed views.
I love the idea and the concept of having sexy smelling talcum powder, however it is quite a strong scent so it's not really something you would use straight after a Lush bath as it overpowers the sweet smelling scents you've just bathed in.
I will try this a few more times and come back to you.

Prince Charming - £4.95

This is a shower gel.
Lush describe this as 'Prince Charming will sweep you off your feet and carry you off into the sunset, leaving your skin silky soft and smelling lovely.'
Okay - I'm in love. I adore the fragrance of this. Lush say it's made with marshmallow root, fair trade vanilla and fresh pomegranate juice.
I, like may other bloggers might have been lured in by the marshmallow scent - however this does not come through very well. The pomegranate is quite over powering, however don't let this put you off! It still smells incredible - fruity and sweet with a hint of citrus to wake you up! Love it - However this was one of the Valentine products from last month and isn't available now. Sorry lovelies!!

-

So that's it for my Lush Haul. I hope you enjoyed having a look-see into what I ordered?

What are your favourite Lush product(s)?

The Liebster Award

Hello everyone!!

This for me is such a humbling award to be nominated for! A huge thank you goes out to the ever so beautiful Em Ford from My Pale Skin @ http://mypaleskin.blogspot.co.uk !!
(I wasn't intending on sounding like I've won an award at the BAFTA's - but this does mean a lot to me)
If you've not checked out her blog yet - get your pretty behinds over there.

I know I don't have a huge following, but I just want to say thank you to you guys who read, enjoy and comment on my posts - it means so much! I seriously can't get over how much the beauty community supports each other and for me this has been a huge confidence boost as I was so apprehensive about starting up a blog at the beginning of this year.

You maybe wondering what this Liebster Award is - This award is given to those with less than 200 followers. You must get nominated for this; by someone who has already been nominated, who enjoys your blog and feels that you should have more followers :) You will list 11 facts about yourself, answer the 11 questions given to you, choose 11 nominees then set them 11 questions to answer.
Sharing the love people!!<3

Rules

You must link back to the person who nominated you
You must state 11 facts about yourself
You must answer the questions given to you
You must pick 11 nominees & create 11 questions for them to answer
You can not nominate the person who nominated you
You must let the people you've chosen know that you've nominated them

11 Random Facts About Me
  1. I am seriously obsessed with TV series - verging on a health warning I think! I love; The Vampire Diaries, True Blood, NCIS, Criminal Minds, Arrow (Omg - marry me now?!), Revenge, Once Upon A Time, Unforgettable, Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, Beauty and the Beast and any other american cheese you throw at me!
  2. Speaking of cheese - LOVE me some cheese.... My moto in life is 'Cheese makes everything better' which might explain my dress size! Seriously though - cheese on pasta, cheese on pizza, cheese on jacket potatoes, cheese on toast, cheesy chips!! -drools-
  3. I'm a sucker for a good slice of Pizza (extra cheese I might add!)
  4. If i'm not in my room watching TV (sad to say!) You'll find me baking up a storm in the kitchen. I love baking celebration cakes & decorating them. However I do love baking cheesecakes too.....mmmm cheese!
  5. I am a secret geek - don't tell anyone!
  6. I love films sci-fi, fantasy, action & adventure, animated and comedy films; Batman, James Bond, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, all Disney films (hell yes!) etc.. you get the picture! Really not a fan of romance films.
  7. I secretly enjoy playing the PS4 with my boyfriend...nothing too brutal but I defy anyone not to like Lego Marvel Heroes!!
  8. I love socialising, so I'm always going out for meals or cocktails!
  9. Cocktails! - I'm more of a cocktail girl rather than wine. I don't really like wine, however on a recent trip to Covent Garden I ended up watching the world go by with a large glass of Merlot.
  10. I'm quite an insecure person when it comes down to it - I may appear confident on the outside but don't let that fool you :)
  11. I am a workaholic and never stop! I'm constantly being told by my lovely mother that 'I'm burning the candle at both ends!!'

Okay, now to answer the questions from Em Ford herself  :P

1. If you're stranded on a desert Island, and can take 5 products with you, but no mirror... what would you take?

Okay I'm going to try and be clever!
First I would take with me my Biotherm Lait Solaire in Factor 50. Amazing stuff! If i'm going to be stuck on a desert Island for a while I do not want to look like I'm 150 when I get rescued!
Second would be my Laura Mercier mini palette (review here) got me some eye shadows & face powders and a lip gloss in there (+ a hidden mirror - Em won't know!!)- Ready to be rescued!!
Third would be my Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser with UV protection!!

Fourth would be a huge pot of Vaseline - multiple different uses!
Fifth would have to be a hair product so it would be my Kerastase Soleil - It's a luxurious after-sun formula that prevents chlorine and salt build up and leaves coloured hair looking radiant. This stuff is seriously amazing!

2. What inspires you?

You do - not being cheesy (mm cheese!) but just looking at how many people read my blogs & follow me on either Bloglovin, Instagram or Twitter seriously inspires me to write more posts and fall more in love with this community!

3. Favourite store?

Umm, this is a tough one as I love Liberty of London or Harrods. Honestly, the feeling I get when I go inside is 'Honey - I'm Home!!' Not that I can afford half the stuff in either but if I had to choose it would be Harrods. The times I've imagined getting locked in and spending the night....Gets me quite excited even now! haha

4. Worst purchase you've ever made?

It has got to be the Britney Spears Curious perfume - Honestly I bought this online thinking it would like her others.. Jeeeez! This just smells effing horrible! Bleugh!

5. Who is your Girl Envy?

Easy - Kim Kardashian.

6. Worst make up mishap?

Bright pink / purple eye shadow up to the eye brow. Used to think I was the bees-knees at school.  NEWSFLASH - It weren't pretty, god knows what I was thinking!

7. What product have you been lusting after, but yet to add to your collection?

I was going to say the Naked 3 palette but I just treated myself haha So it's going to have to be the Dior Rose Skin Shimmer

8. What is something you would love to wear (make up/fashion) but feel you can't pull off?

Really dark purple lip or just a purple lip. It ain't happening girls!!

9. How long does your everyday make up take?

10-15 mins

10. What product do you wish had never been discontinued?

Dior Creme De Rose Lip Balm & Chanel Pro-Lumiere Foundation - WHY CHANEL?! WHY?!

11. Where do you see yourself this time next year?

Still addicted to my tv series and cheese :) maybe setting up a youtube video...?! but most importantly having made a tonne of new friends!!

So the questions I'm asking you are:

1. Why did you decide to start writing a blog?
2. What was the first thing you ever posted about?
3. Your man (or lady) crush has just called whilst your running out the door for work, saying they'll meet you for lunch. You've only got time to run back through the door and grab 1 product - what is it?
4. Name a make up brand that's not so popular that your loving at the moment.
5. What is your favourite food?
6. Whats the ideal present you would want from me right now (if money were no object)?
7. Flowers or Chocolates?
8. Shrek or Finding Nemo?
9. Where's the furthest place you've even been?
10. Starter or Pudding?
11. What's the most expensive thing you have in your wardrobe (i.e bag / clothes / shoes / makeup)?

Love Lost | Lost Love

So there has been a reoccurring theme this last week I feel, with bloggers from all corners of the globe talking about products that they had either lost or forgotten about and whether or not they still love them or not.
So I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon and give you...drum roll please....!
Love Lost | Lost Love

The title maybe pretty self explanatory to me but I'll explain it so there is no confusion.
Love Lost - Used to love it, now don't.
Lost Love - Used to love it, still do.

Simples - Let's crack on! I warn you - this maybe pretty lengthy so I apologise in advance. Let me know if you read until the end ; I would be honoured to find out who finds this interesting :)

Eyeshadows - How did i forget these?!
Lets start with the Shadows

So you may be asking how I forgot about these, the answer is, there is no answer - I'm just a bad person! I was attempting to tidy / organise my room last week and found an old make up case that felt rather heavy. On opening it I found a tonne of make up! Of which I felt very bad...Bad Charlotte!

Benefit Eyeshadows
Benefit:

Miss Moon Shimmer Pot - This pearly white pigment lasts you years...I'm being serious guys! I think this was one of the first make up products I bought with my own money. It has a beautiful shimmer to it with blue undertones. Perfect for brightening the inner corner of your eyes or blending out to create a stunning smoky eye.

Verdict : Lost Love

Miss Moon
Next we have another Benefit duo shadow and for the life of me I can't remember the name! I've looked for it all over the web and it's nowhere to be found! This is really old and I totally forgot about it. However I do really like the grey shimmer with it's violet / brown undertones. Great for a smoky eye. Loved the pot too.

Verdict : Lost Love

Jane Doe of Eyeshadows
Finally we have the other Benefit pot - Don't know the name - it's rubbed off! I'm coming across a bit rubbish on this name game but honestly I get better :) This, if I remember correctly was a multi-use product so I could use it as a shadow, blush and lip stain. To be honest it takes a lot of blending and I've got better ones now sooooo I think this is going to be given away.

Verdict : Love Lost

Benefit 3 in 1 Blush Powder

MAC:

Yes. I forgot all about these, my excuse is that I've been using my Laura Mercier palette & Urban Decay palette which duped a lot of the 'normal' shadows in this palette. Apologies!

Pressed Powder Shadows:  I'm only going to swatch the unusual colours from this palette.

Overall : I know some of these colours are a bit out there, but I just can't be parted with them. I think they are simply beautiful.

Verdict : Lost Love

From Left to Right: Beautiful Iris, Stars n Rockets, Da Bling, Newly Minted, Chrome Yellow

Okay so this next one stumped me! My fantastic brother bought me this for a Christmas present last year with his own money (Guy is 18 now but for a 17 year old to choose something for me and buy it, I was seriously impressed!)
If anyone can advise me as to how to use this palette I'm all ears as I find the consistency really tough, they are cream based?! Also I don't think the names are at all pleasant. So at the moment i'm not loving it, but will keep hold of it for sentimental reasons.

Verdict : Love Lost

Spring 2013 Forecast Eyes Palette
From Left to Right: Runway Rose, Now Mustard! Must Have Brown, Top Soil, Sunshine, April Mist

Eye Pencils

So two old eye pencils I used to love were the Benefit Eye Bright & Bad Gal Eye Liner

These are far too chunky for my liking and not something I'd use now as I have better alternatives. Also the formula of both of them seem to be quite dry - that may be something to do with the fact I forgot about them but still not impressed.

Verdict : Love Lost

Eye Bright : Bad Gal Eye Liner

Face Powders

The final installment of this post is on face powders. I'll be amazed if you're still reading this!

Benefit Hello Flawless - Okay so this may look like I used it a lot but this is such a shallow pan, after a few uses I met the bottom! Sorry to be so blunt, it may have cute packaging but that still does not justify the £25.50!!! price tag. The powder itself was nice, gives you a good coverage but I would want more for my money. I'm all for paying good money for a product so long as it's justified - in this case, it isn't.

Verdict : Love Lost

MAC Pinch Me : This is described as a 'dirty rose coral' which is actually the best way to describe it. It's halfway between a blush and a bronzer and I love it!

Verdict : Lost Love

Chanel Blush Hot Pink - We've got a love hate relationship. I adore the packaging (as lets face it - it's Chanel!) However I had to seriously rub the powder to even get the slightest bit off! I love the colour and think it's a beautiful pink with a touch of shimmer but it's too bloody stubborn!
What do you guys think?

Verdict : Love Lost

From left to right: Benefit, MAC, Chanel

Congratulations if you're still reading this! You might have aged a year but you still look fabulous! :)

I'm always interested in what you guys have lost and found so please keep this 'theme' going!

On a final note, to keep up to date follow me on:

M.U.A Eye Shadow Trio: Chocolate Box

Okay, so I thought I'd write a quick blog on something I picked up from Superdrug yesterday.
I've heard a lot of Beauty bloggers rave about this brand so I thought I'd take up the opportunity to try it out when I came across it.
Needless to say, I was impressed.

MUA Eyeshadow Trio: Chocolate Box

The Formula :

This is what I was impressed with the most, it is so pigmented.
I literally just rubbed my fingers over the shadow and the below picture shows you the amount that came off.
I now want to purchase the remaining 6 shades as they are just amazing!

Chocolate Box: 3 Shades with slight shimmer
The Price:

Are you sitting down?
At £2.50 (Yes, you read that correctly) I seriously could not believe it. For the price, you are essentially getting 3 eye shadows for the price of one. This will last you ages as you only need a small amount to sweep across your lid. My particular favourites of this trio were the amber & copper shades as these two blended so nicely together which gave me a really flattering look. They look great on their own too, so this makes them perfect for any budding beauty fan.

MUA don't actually give names to their shadows, they give them numbers.
So I made up some names :) From Top to Bottom: Amber, Copper, Chocolate Shimmer.

Cons:

There isn't anything specifically wrong with this product as everything goes in its favor; price, formula, packaging etc... However I'm not the biggest fan of shimmery eye shadows, so if MUA are listening (or perhaps reading...) How about you do some matte trio shadows? If there are some out there - Someone please point me in the right direction!

Just a quick look, nothing special - Amber & Copper

In Conclusion:

Fill your boots people!!!!

PURCHASE

-

I hope you've enjoyed my little blog post on MUA and I hope it has urged some of you to go and try this gem of a makeup brand.

Have any of you tried MUA? If so, what do you recommend?

As always guys, It's been a pleasure.

Rimmel Apocalips - Wow!

So I've been wanting to do a review on these lip products for a while. Rimmel have certainly upped their game this last year on their make up line. I just can't get enough.
What about you?

These Apocalips are more like lipstick glosses than your standard glosses. They are so pigmented you do not need any colour on the base.
'The intense rich colour of a lipstick, enhanced by a satin smooth shine' - Rimmel

303 - Apocaliptic
102 - Nova

Product:

They are the ideal on the go lip product, they come in several different colours and are only £5.99 so you can pop a few in your bag and transform your look from day to night with a wave of it's magic wand. Speaking of which, I love the applicator with these, as it's shaped to fill your lips with as much product as possible. The point on it also allows for you to get as close to your lip-line as possible. Not only that, but they smell rather nice too!

Colour: Nova

Packaging:

I love the packaging on this line, they just seem so much more special against the rest of my lip glosses and lip sticks. They really stand out in my make up bag, it may be something to do with the different angled lids on them.
Is it wrong that I think they add that little bit of sexy to your clutch bag?!

From Top to Bottom: Apocaliptic - Nova

Colours:

These colours make me drool, please don't tell me I'm the only one?! Just look at the pigmentation and shine! I have a few more colours in these but I've lent them to friends and somehow they have not returned back to me...surprise surprise. These two are my favourites and I hope you can see why.
I shall say no more on the matter - try them now!

-

Have you tried any of the Apolocalips? Whats your favourite Rimmel product?
Let me know in the comments guys I love to hear from you!

It's been a pleasure.
